About

In 2012 PUMA first dipped their toes into circular waters when they launched a closed-loop collection. Part of that collection was a biodegradable shoe. However, demand and infrastructure lacked so the experiment remained an experiment. When consumer behavior shifted however, PUMA decided to pick things up where they left off. This time they decided to choose one of their most popular silhouettes to turn biodegradable: The Puma Suede. After some initial testing they launched the biodegradable PUMA RE:SUEDE in 2023 for the public.

Work

As a company on top of the most promising trends in sustainability and circularity we had to put PUMA's promise to the test. We got ourselves our own pair of RE:SUEDE and put them into actual composting soil, added composting worms and regularly made sure to add water and nutritions.
